Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Fans' Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Good News
The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.
The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
